Our "Summer"

It's hard to believe that today is the last day of August already!  Here's a little photo recap of what our "Summer" has been like (although it doesn't feel like "Summer" is ending for us since there's not much temperature change throughout the year).
In July, Mike had the privilege of helping out at one of the Seventh-day Adventist revivals by doing his dental health talk again.  Every Wednesday night for a couple of weeks, he presented information about dental care and also he was able to do a free dental screening one evening before the meeting.  It gave him an opportunity to meet some new people and he enjoyed it very much.

We continue to enjoy fellowship with our island friends!
Love these girls!  We had them over to our house to celebrate their birthdays!
I still have days I really miss taking Megumi to the playground or to the library for a story hour or an air-conditioned mall...something different other than activities that requires wearing swimsuits.  However, when I look at these pictures, she's having so much fun just hanging out with her buddies.  She continues to remind me to be thankful for what I have and for the simple things in life like sprinklers and giant coconuts!

Speaking of island friends, we are so blessed to have a wonderful group of friends God placed in our lives that make our time here extra special.  They planned a little baby shower for us and we enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at the beautiful Palm Court Garden swimming and playing games!

LOVE her and LOVE her cake!
All my wonderful lady friends.  The guys were watching the kiddos... ;)
We also managed to have a game night with these crazy people!  Friends are truly a special gift from God.  What a wonderful evening filled with fun games and lots of laughter!

One of the hardest things about life is having to part ways with friends you've made.  The K family has been a tremendous blessing to us and we've enjoyed countless hours of fellowship together over the last year and a half.  It was so hard to say goodbye to them at the airport!  Megumi woke up crying that evening asking me "why did they have to go back to America?!"  Oh how we miss them already!  We are just so thankful that God made our paths cross here on this tiny Caribbean island.  I truly believe He was saving friends like them for "such a time as this".  Our love and prayers are with them as they start their new chapter back in the States!

Last Wednesday evening, Mike's mom flew in to spend a few days with us before flying back to Seattle with Megumi and I.  We've been enjoying giving her a glimpse of our island life!  Megumi can't get enough of spending quality time with Halmoni (grandma in Korean).  I guess she's trying to make up for all the time we've missed hanging out with her!  It's been really sweet watching them play together.
Beautiful day at Brimstone Hill Fortress
Enjoying some yummy Rasta food!
Vegetables from their garden!
Loved getting hugs from my sweet former students!

We spent a wonderful day at the beach today with friends.  Then it hit me.  This is probably the last time we are at the beach as a family of three.  Next time we are back, we will have a baby boy in our arms!  That is so crazy!  Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we fly back to the States this week to have this baby boy.  God knows how hard it is for us to be apart from Mike for a month.   He also knows when Mike is joining us and He knows when this baby boy needs to come out to meet us.  Instead of worrying about all the "what if's", I will trust in His timing and in His care!  Ahh!! Six more weeks until our due date!

P.S.  Here are my belly pictures and the baby boy's progress.  He's definitely growing and keeping me up at night with all his kicks!  I feel bigger everyday.  We are so thankful for a healthy pregnancy so far!
