It's hard to believe that it's already the last day of February. Where did this month go? It's true that time flies when you are having fun! We started off the month with some of our dearest friends coming to visit us from Idaho and Tennessee. We all used to live in Loma Linda together when the boys went through dental school. So we purposely overlapped their visits by five days. It was a mini-reunion! We had a total of six adults and three toddlers running around in our house. It was busy but it was so much fun! We loved every minute of being together. God has blessed us with their friendships to show us just how deep and how precious friendships can be. They have truly become our "family" over the years. What an amazing gift that gets richer every year! With the three boys taking pictures with their fancy cameras, we have so many great pictures. It was hard to limit but here are a few to give you a glimpse of our time together!

On the 14th of this month, I hit a mile stone. I turned THIRTY! Since we had just spent the last couple of weeks doing incredibly fun things with our dear friends, I requested for a lazy birthday (is this a sign that I'm getting old?!). My day went like this: Mike let me sleep in (parents of young children will understand what a GIFT this is!), woke up to a scrumptious breakfast, splashed in the ocean with Megumi, snorkeled, a walk along the beach, spent some time at school doing Valentine's day crafts with students, lots of birthday hugs, phone calls, Skype, Facetime, and I ended the day with a chocolate cake! It was perfect.

In honor of my 30th birthday, I have made a commitment this year to memorize 30 scriptures. I've been wanting to memorize more Bible verses for a while now, so this seems like a perfect opportunity to set a goal. Besides, memorizing things is good for the brain as you get older...right?! :) In all seriousness, I have personally experienced the power of scriptures that are "hidden in your heart". I am looking forward to "arming" myself with God's words. I pray that God will use those verses to help me grow in Him this year!
"Teach me your way, O Lord, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. For great is your love toward me." - Psalm 86: 11-12
