It's a....BOY!

We thought about doing a creative gender reveal for our second child.  But when it came down to it, we just couldn't wait to find out.  We knew it was a fifty-fifty chance...but I guess somewhere in the back of our minds, we were expecting another girl.  So we were shocked but super excited to find out that we are going to have a boy!  It never ceases to amaze us to watch this tiny baby move around in the ultra sound image.  We heard and saw his heart beat.  We watched him wiggle his ten toes and ten fingers.  Praise God for a healthy boy so far and we'd appreciate your continual prayers.

This is where I had to go to get my blood work done.
Since my baby #2 check ups here in St. Kitts have been a different experience than the one we had in the States, thought I'd share some pictures.

Ever since we had to wait for over three hours for our first appointment and eventually had to re-schedule (he was stuck at the hospital and since there are not many OB-GYN doctors on the island, I can't complain), we have come to expect a long wait when it comes to doctor's appointment.  We just didn't realize the first time that we were suppose to have the whole day free just in case the doctor couldn't see you close to your appointment time.  Now that we know what to expect, we are pleasantly surprised when our wait is less than an hour.

If it wasn't for my friend that told me to "look for the Chinese restaurant sign",
I would've never found this orange building!

The first floor is my doctor's office.

Living here in St. Kitts makes this whole having a baby thing a little more complicated.  Although we are confident that our doctor is knowledgeable and experienced, we have decided to have the baby back in the States.  We are blessed to have insurance coverage and the support of our church organization to accommodate our annual leave so that we can be back in the States around my due date.   We are looking forward to being close to family during this special time.

May/June photos...

For our Mother's Day weekend, the church asked the men to cook our Sabbath potluck.  It was very sweet to watch all the guys cook and serve all the ladies.  We enjoyed the lunch very much!

The next day, after Megumi and Mike spoiled me with a scrumptious breakfast in bed, we went on  a little hike to Monkey Hill with some good friends.  We were expecting rain but it turned out to be a beautiful humid day!

"Show us how old you are!"
The view of our island was fantastic!

Art Show to conclude the year.   Theme: "Art Projects from around the World"
The students did a fantastic job and we were excited to share our projects.
I'm so proud of their hard work and I had such a great time teaching Art this year!

Megumi's first selfie underwater.
She's super excited to wear her goggles now to see all the fish!

One of our favorite things to get at the beach after swimming...
A veggie platter! YUM!

Mike had another wonderful opportunity to do a dental outreach at one of our churches out in the country.  He had ordered a portable suction machine so he was excited to try it out.  Hopefully it will make doing this kind of outreach easier.  It was a great turn out.  Some people had never been to a dentist and they were in their forty's.  Mike had opportunities to educate them on basic dental hygiene.  In other cases, he did some cleanings on people that have not been to a dentist in over twenty years!

Living here in St. Kitts comes with many challenging moments but we also have countless breath-taking moments that are just simply incredible.  Looking at these pictures reminds me to count my blessings everyday.  Today, I will choose to see my cup half full instead of half empty.
